What do I need to get started with my Bumpits^® Hair Volumizing Inserts?

To achieve the popular bumped-up look, you will need a teasing comb, medium hold aerosol hairspray, and your favorite sized Bumpits^® Insert.

Why is it important to tease my hair in order to use Bumpits^® Inserts?

It is very important to tease your hair when you use your Bumpits^® Inserts because it will prevent the gripping teeth from poking through. Teasing will also help to ensure your Bumpits^® will stay in place extra securely and the more you tease the hair, the smoother and rounder the bump.

Can I use Bumpits^® Inserts if my hair is fine?

Absolutely! Bumpits^® Inserts can be used with all hair types. However, if your hair is super fine or silky, we recommend teasing your hair a little more, and using hairspray throughout all steps. If your Bumpits^® Insert still feels too loose, you can pin the sides of your hair back into the ½ up do.

How do I get Bumpits^® Inserts to feel most comfortable when they are in my hair?

Be sure the inserts are placed straight above the ears and not too far back on the head. Bumpits^® Insert should be about 2 1/2” back from hairline. Also, make sure not to pull your hair too tightly over the Bumpits^® Insert. The looser you keep your hair, the more likely you will forget that you’re even wearing Bumpits^® Inserts.

How do I remove Bumpits^® Inserts from my hair?

It’s easy to take Bumpits^® Inserts out. Just be gentle and never pull hard. If your hair is curly, then gently lift the hair off the top of your Bumpits^® Insert before you lift the Bumpits^® Insert out of your hair.

Why are the teeth on my Bumpits^® Insert showing through? I teased my hair!

If your hair is ultra fine, you may need to tease the hair a little more and a little farther out on the hair shaft. Also, make sure that you are not touching or pressing down on your Bumpits^® Insert once it is in your hair. Also be sure hair is simply placed over the Bumpits^® Insert.

Will Bumpits^® Inserts fall out when I’m dancing or being active?

No! As long as you use Bumpits^® Inserts properly, the teeth will prevent any slippage. If you are going to be in something very active (such as a dance competition), you may want to at least pull the sides of your hair up, into the ½ up do, to really make sure that your Bumpits^® Inserts are not going to wiggle loose.

If I am a blonde, does it really matter what color of Bumpits^® Insert I purchase?

It is important that you purchase the color of Bumpits^® Insert that most closely matches your hair color. Although they will be completely hidden, it helps to blend with your hair color, and it will add to the appearance of fuller, more voluminous hair.

It’s easy! Just use warm water and gentle soap, and be sure to hand wash.
